Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities has a threefold role in the service delivery system. First, the Department distributes resources and funding to local county boards of MR/DD, which they administer at the local level to provide services to infants, children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. Second, it regulates county boards of MR/DD in order to ensure quality service to its consumers, best business practice, and maintains the confidence of Ohio´s taxpayers and citizens.
