With the help of CSI, rule filings in Ohio were 44% below the historical average in 2012, indicating that agencies understand and consider the CSI process before making decisions to propose regulations that impact Ohio businesses. In 2012, CSI reviewed nearly 1,400 rules from 166 rule packages.
Ohio’s Unemployment
In January 2011, the US and Ohio unemployment rates were 9.1 and 9.0 respectively. Under the Ohio Model, a balanced budget, taxes cut, and regulations streamline, however, Ohio’s unemployment rate has dropped more sharply than the nationwide rate, falling 2.1 points compared to just 1.2 points nationally.
