Kasich Announces Appointment to Summit County Court of Common Pleas June 10, 2016 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Scot A. Stevenson of Barberton (Summit Co.) to serve as a judge on the Summit County Court of Common Pleas. Stevenson will assume office on June 15, 2016 and must run in November 2016 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends April 30, 2021. Stevenson is replacing Judge Tom Parker, who resigned. Stevenson received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron in 1983 and his juris doctorate from the University of Akron in 1992. Stevenson has his own practice and has served as a law director for Twinsburg Township since 2011. Stevenson is a member of the Summit County Facility Review Board, Akron Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association and the Barberton Area Salvation Army Advisory Board. He also is a Barberton Public Library trustee and Barberton Civil Service commissioner.
