Kasich Announces Appointment to Cleveland Municipal Court December 2, 2016 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Jimmy L. Jackson, Jr. of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) to serve as a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court. Jackson will assume the bench on January 3, 2017, and must run in November 2017 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends January 2, 2022. Jackson is replacing Judge Edward Wade, who passed away. Jackson received his bachelor’s degree from University of Akron and his juris doctorate from University of Akron School of Law. He has served as Magistrate at the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court since 2005. Jackson is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and a past member of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association and the Independence Charter Review Commission.
