COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Dennis P. Deters of Colerain Township (Hamilton Co.) to serve as a judge on the First District Court of Appeals. Deters will assume office on March 6, 2017. He must run in November 2018 to retain the seat for the full term commencing February 11, 2019. Deters is replacing Judge Pat DeWine who has been elected to the Ohio Supreme Court.
Deters received his bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame and his law degree from University of Cincinnati. He is currently a litigation attorney at Robbins, Kelly, Patterson and Tucker. He is a designee of the Princeton School Board, a volunteer at Operation Legal Help Ohio serving veterans and a former Hamilton County Commissioner. Deters is a member of the Ohio Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
