Incorporating Evidence-Based Practices - June 5, 2012

This training session will focus on strengthening the linkage between research knowledge and practice.  It will address the biggest challenges for practitioners in implementing a new program or practice.  The training will also: define implementation; explore strategies for real-world application of innovative, research-based practice; highlight why the effective implementation of evidence-based practices is critical to achieving outcomes; and outline six core components that drive successful program implementation.

Finding Funding and Sustainability - October 9, 2012

This training will focus on reviewing the available resources that will assist in identifying viable funding sources for your agency.  They will focus on using periodicals, traditional sources of grant research, as well as using the internet to research funding streams that might be available to you.  A good deal of the class will concentrate on getting online and working through some of the major sources for finding funding on the internet.

Grantwriting 101 - May 2, June 7, Sept. 13, and Nov. 8, 2012

This training is intended to be a beginner, general overview course of grant writing.  Topic areas discussed include the components of a grant application, tips on how to improve your writing and responses to solicitations, development of problem statements, logic model introduction, and process and outcome objective construction.  In addition, the course will briefly examine how to conduct research for potential funding sources online.
