Kasich Announces Appointment to Meigs County Court

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Michael L. Barr of Racine (Meigs Co.) to serve as a judge on the Meigs County Court. Barr will assume office on November 14, 2018 to complete the remainder of the unexpired term ending December 31, 2018. Barr was elected in the November 2018 election for Judge of the Meigs County Court for the full term commencing January 1, 2019. Barr is replacing Judge Steven L. Story who passed away.

Barr received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and his law degree from Capital University Law School. He is currently a partner of Little, Sheets & Barr in Pomeroy, where he practices law in state and federal courts. Barr is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the West Virginia Bar Association. In addition he serves on the Board of Directors of the Meigs County Community Improvement Corporation.
