Kasich Signs House Bill 158 and House Bill 483 July 13, 2016 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich signed the following bills into law: · Sub. HB 158 (Dever, Howse) replaces provisions containing the term "mental retardation" and its derivatives with corresponding provisions containing the term "intellectual disability" and its derivates and specifies that an intellectual disability is a form of developmental disability. · Am. Sub. HB 483 (Amstutz) modifies programs administered by the Department of Developmental Disabilities, modifies certain laws pertaining to tax levies for developmental disabilities, modifies certain laws regarding ABLE savings accounts and Ohio's disability savings account program, designates October as "Disability History and Awareness Month," requires acceptance of certain certificate of need applications regarding relocation of long-term care facility beds, removes behavioral health services from inclusion as direct care costs of nursing facilities, delays certain laws regarding community behavioral health services, and makes an appropriation.
